The subject title deals with the author's descriptions of his years living in various locations in Ohio, Missouri, Arkansas and Lousiana, during the years 1815 to 1825 where he comments extensively on geography, topography, culture and conditions. Considered by Howes to be "quite scarce". Smith in his bibliography of Travels in the Old South states: "The Recollections of Timothy Flint form one of the more significant travel accounts of the early nineteenth century in the Ohio and Mississippi valleys.".
