Description: 1834 Capped Bust Half Dollar Small Date, Small letters O-116 (Not on Slab) ANACS VF35 The dark dots on the portrait and in the eagles feathers are chunks of dirt sticking to the coin, not spots. This is the definition of "crusty." The fields are richly glossy and lustrous; streak, mark, and hairline free; and the detail is essentially XF for the O-116 die marriage, which has an unusually shaped bust and always comes flat on the breast line. The rich slate blue grey patina is accented with a "Circulated Cameo" look. While we believe in originality, it would not have hurt for someone to carefully knock the dirt off this piece, prior to certification. It would be absolute perfection.
