Description: Feel free to check out more Old Books, Maps, Ephemera, Prints and Other Old Paper Items in Our Ebay Antique Shop. Thank You for Visiting!***Fabulous GIFT for the Mainer with Civil War Descendants. Up for Sale is a First Edition of the 1863 Maine Adjutant General Report. This Report regarding the Civil War was Printed by Stevens & Sayward (Printers to the State, Augusta) for the Governor and Legislature. Unbelievable Reference Book of Maine's Sons during this Turbulent Time in History. Of course, the first search I did was for Col. Joshua L. Chamberlain who was a Native Son of Maine. 20th Regiment, Rank and Name are shown on Page 6, photo 6. Many pages list Name, Age, Residence, Date Mustered and Remarks. The Remarks Section is quite interesting as many entries show status of individual such as deserted, sick, transferred, died of disease, drowned, promoted and even desertion: arrested. Many other pages included Name, Company & Regiment. 947 Pages plus 103 pages regarding the Return of Draft and another 70 pages of Appendixes. Total of 1120 pages of which I did not find any loose or torn pages. Book is 9 1/4" x 6" and 3 1/2" thick. I will ship UPS and pack very carefully. Please Look at All Pictures and Read Entire Condition Section.
