1966 BMW R-Series

Description: BMW 1966 R50/2 Classic Vintage with a clean title Nice clean Airhead BMW /2. Original paint still shines. Recently serviced ready for the road. I just dropped the asking price $2000.00 due to the winter months ahead of us. Let move this from my garage to yours!!!!!!!!!!!!Stay warm, stay safe and Happy Winter Riding. I pick up this bike from a Dear old friend of mine. Recently it has spent more time in their garage than on the road. I have just finish going through the bike’s, Preforming all major maintenance requirements. She is now ready for the open road for years to come. Title - I have a clean title in my name. No issues A compete tear-down and rebuild of the following items: Carburetors – ultrasonic cleaning, new gaskets and any new items requiring replacement. Brakes - Front and Rear brake system (includes shoes) Fuel - Inspection of the gas tank and replacement of the all of the fuel lines. Spark - Replaced spark plugs, New hotter better, firing. Battery – Vintage 6-volt Battery still good, topped off and a good charge Checked cleaned and topped off (Aug 2024) and now on trickle charger. Wheels – “Used” Tires front and Rear with tubes. The tires have been trued and balanced, before replacing back on the bike. The tires came with the bike they still look to be in good shape with little use, Engine - All fluid levels have been checked and topped off. Seat – The seat if an original Denfeld seat. The top of the set or seat cover is in good shape. The seat cushion has seen its better days. It is holding its shape, but I would recommend replacing it. The seat is still comfortable to use, but its an original 1966 Denfeld seat. Item replaced - Ignition Spark plugs Air Filter The bike moves smoothly through all of the gears. Please adjust the brakes to your stiffness, when you get the bike. The rear maybe a little on the light side for storage. Please take a look the photos for full inspection of the bike. See photo. PSS: - Tank – Lets talk about the tank, I stared the bike bye, bypassing the tank. Some one used a Tank (KREEM) inside the tank. But didn’t prep the tank properly. When I started on the bike the Kreem had pulled back from the tank and separated becoming a (for lack of a better term) a water balloon with gas inside the tank. I have completely cleaned the Kreem from the tank and its ready to go. But I am leaving it up to the new Owner if they want to use Kreem inside the tank or go as is. The tank looks good as it is. I don’t think the Kreem is needed. But again, it’s up to the next owner on what they what to do. Sorry about the long explanation but I want to make sure there is a full disclosure on the bike that I am selling.
