I am not sure how/when/why the plastic wrapper was opened, but I don’t think it’s ever been removed from the box. The box is in very good condition with no major defects. It will make a cute addition to any Hello Kitty collection! Though I am best known for my portrayal of Asuka in the Evangelion franchise, I also worked on Hello Kitty's Animation Theatre as a writer and voice actor [Pekkle, Pochacco, Monkichi].
