The UV resistance can last from 6 months to a year or more, depending on the type of Tyvek®. The type of material helps prevent the infiltration of air and water, but lets water vapor escape to prevent rot and mold inside walls. Tyvek® is mold and mildew resistant. It shows no degradation after being buried in soil for an extended period of time.This a is a Type 10 fabric defined as a hard structure. Tyvek® hard structure products are strong and tear resistant yet weigh only half as much as paper. It weighs only 1.8 ounces per square yard. The physical properties of Tyvek® withstand the effects of water. It is equally strong wet or dry. It can be sewn and washed but do not put in your dryer. There will be some shrinkage if washed.
