The base was to be mounted to the side table and it comes without the shade. One will be sent with the bottom screws attached and the other I took out to show the difference but you can still add them back if you would like ..I will send with the order. The lamp shade will make it your own original style by picking it out yourself ... You can either mount it to the table or not... Up to you !! These lamps are very heavy!
