Description: Antique Ansonia "Frolic" Mantle Clock Man & Woman Fancy Dial Circa Late 1800's This Antique Original Ansonia "Frolic" Novelty Clock with the Fancy Dial is from the late 1800's. It winds up from the back and It runs! This Ansonia clock is all Original and has the "Ansonia Clock Co. NY "on the bottom of the front of the Dial (look closely, it stamped is under the number 7 and stretches almost to the number 4). Another sign of an authentic Ansonia is the logo "A" that is in a triangle and that is located under the number 12 in gold as shown in the photo. This is a 2 inch dial with the fancy gold details. It was also made with a version that has a plain dial but this fancy version is more desirable and much more attractive. This Novelty clock doesn't have any cracks or repairs that I can see.The finish on the clock is remarkable considering it is well over a century old and has never been touched up. This clock has a built in leg in the back that folds up and down to give support when on a mantle to hold it upright without leaning against a wall. The approx dimensions are 7 1/4 inches tall, 8 inches length and 2 inches wide.
