Description: Antique Porcelain Sucrier and Cover / Sugar Box with Lid.Made by Coalport in England, ca. 1815.The pattern is # 377 as marked so on verso. Painted predominantly with cobalt, reddish-orange, green and pink enamels in Imari colours and accented with gold throughout the pattern. The pattern is very much reminiscent of the thumb and finger English porcelain designs from the 1775-1825 time period. This sugar box and the lid are in good solid condition with a minor repair at the rim of the bowl. There is a hairline going to the repair and another short one that is visible on the inside as a brown line. The multicolor enamel painting is vibrant and in excellent condition. The gold painting and accents are in excellent condition as well, the gold trim at the rim and handles shows some wear. The approximate measurements: 6.5 inches long x 4.5 inches tall. Originally purchased in late 1960s - early 1970s at the Jack Patla's well known fine antique shop in Charleston, South Carolina.
