VDO’s well-known extremely inaccurate & short lifespan offering, now defunct, mostly due to a Thermocouple/Extension Lead Wire, a couple of 7th grade Introductory Physical Science students could easily build. Unlike other CHT Instruments, My gauge incorporates Cold Junction Compensation. Internal solid-state device increases accuracy, eliminating need to mentally calculate compensation while driving. Kit includes Gauge, Extension Lead Wire, 14mm Thermocouple, generous length of shrink tube to protect the all important T-couple to extension lead wire connection. Includes printed, detailed Install Sheet. All connections from Thermocouple to Instrument are matched and color-coded, easy install. Lighting is a standard incandescent bulb to match your IP lighting scheme. Dialface text closely matches defunct VDO kit. Instrument Panel mounting is the same 2-1/16" (52mm) diameter. Hottest running cylinder is good ‘ol #3. Install Thermocouple on #3 cylinder spark plug for most accurate reading. Type 1 kit has a 12ft extension wire which is usually sufficient for Type 1/Type 3 cars, sand rails, buggies. 14mm OEM style Thermocouple included. Also...
