Description: Five images of this 109-year-old, generously illustrated book are shown below. It is: Edmund Dulac's Picture Book for the French Red Cross, Published in London by Hodder and Stoughton, no date. Reference materials indicate that this WWI fund-raiser was published in 1915. It measures 11" x 8 3/4" and is 135 pages and in Very Good condition with a gift inscription at the top of the front endpaper, with some gentle overall wear, and with a small, light dampstain that comes nowhere near the text or illustrations at the very-top of the spine of text pages 65-89. Dulac has done nineteen, full-page, tipped-in, color illustrations; there also is a tipped-in photograph of Dulac. One of the illustrations has a 1" x 1/8" scrape on one edge; all other illustrations, and the photograph are in virtually-perfect condition. Among the characters included in the seventeen tales are: Cinderella, Sinbad, The Real Princess (aka "The Princess and the Pea"), Aucassin and Nicolette, Princess Badoura, The Three Wise Men, etc. There is no former-owner's bookplate inside, no foxing, and there are no loose pages.
