Description: GOOD condition issue of African-American political journal Freedomways, this particular issue honoring found W.E.B DuBois, who co-founded the publication. One contribution is from the by then blacklisted Paul Robeson —actor, singer, activist, polyglot, everything. This issue is SIGNED by Robeson with “kind wishes” in blue ballpoint pen. This signature would have been after years of poor health and increased stress brought on by government abuse toward Robeson for his communist and black liberation beliefs. This is my thought around the signature. I haven’t verified its authenticity, but it corresponds to factors of that era of his life. Condition noted in price.
