The IOTA IQ-40-HOUR Smart Charge Controller provides automatic charging control for the IOTA DLS Series Charger when using Flooded Lead Acid batteries in larger systems. The IQ4 allows the DLS Charger to operate as a 3-stage automatic "smart charger", providing the benefit of an extended 40 hour Bulk charge before reverting to standard Absorption, Float, and Maintenance cycle charging. Multi-stage charging with the IQ4 increases the charging capacity of the DLS charger, decreases the charge time, ensures a maintained and full battery charge, and minimizes the possibility of over-charging. The IQ-40-HOUR continually monitors the battery at all times. If the DLS voltage remains in the Float stage for seven days, the IQ module will automatically initiate the Maintenance stage for a predetermined time to help maintain the battery plates, and then resume Float Stage charging. The IOTA IQ-40-HOUR Smart Charge Controller easily plugs into the Dual Voltage Jack of your IOTA DLS Battery Charger. Once plugged in, the IQ Smart Charge circuitry is automatically engaged and your IQ module will activate. Your DLS will now provide an automatic and trouble free charging profile to your Flooded Lead Acid batteries. Note: While the IQ-40-HOUR is designed to accommodate most Flooded Lead Acid batteries, always refer to the manufacturer's specifications for your battery's allowable charging parameters.
