Kennedy, Jr. In July of 1999, Kennedy, his wife, and his sister-in-law, died in a plane he was piloting when it crashed on their way to a family wedding. The magazine continued to be published for about a year and a half after Kennedy's death in 1999. The magazine folded in early 2001. Cindy Crawford, photographed by Herb Ritts, graces the cover of this first issue of George magazine. She is dressed as the first US president, George Washington. This issue is 280 pages. This cover with Cindy Crawford, tame by today standards, did receive criticism, but the play on George Washington achieved what it set out to do: generate publicity. Besides Crawford dressed as George, the magazine also highlights Kennedy's sympathetic interview with former Alabama governor George Wallace. They talk mostly about race, but Wallace also reminisces about Kennedy's father. "I was very fond of your father. I was at your father's funeral," Wallace says.Magazine is in very good++ to like new collectible condition. No label, and no residue from one. NEWS STAND Copy.
