Description: Solid, great shape Ship's Fog Horn in brass with screw clasp chain. Solid and undamaged, some small dinks as per photos. This is an absolutely beautiful piece of maritime history. In taking the photos I noticed that one side of the horn is shinier than the other, the shiny side was obviously resting against a person or material to buff more than the other side. A horn similar to this one is in the New Zealand Maritime Museum which is how I found out, despite a lot of sailing, that this is not a hunting horn!! Will be packed in sturdy box with protective packaging.
