Description: Anvil Fine Wares Price: $599 in Nice Pre-Owned Condition This is an original 2010-2011 production, early-run Barbara Bixby Couture BBB780OLID bracelet featuring a gorgeous Olive Quartz with .1396ctw of white diamonds and lots of 18K Yellow Gold adornment. Original retail on this was $2500. These early Bixby Couture pieces had fantastic gemstones and this bracelet is a perfect example. The big Olive Quartz has been nicely preserved, and as you can see in our close-up photos it has no issues and is a standout gemstone. The main issue(s) with this bracelet is the missing safety catch, which isn't much of an issue - the hinge on these was always very strong, and this one is also. The openable arm on this is not going to move unless you wear this bracelet to go play rugby or wrestle crocodiles. The safety catches on these were always a questionable idea because they just never lasted long and always broke. On this bracelet, the original owner must have broken it and realized it was better off gone, and the hinge is tight enough that the safety catch was more of a nuisance than a help. Also, as was common with these - often because of the installation of the safety catch - you can see in our top-down photo that the arms are slightly asymmetrical, and the bracelet doesn't form a perfect oval shape. As such, we're listing this for a lower price than we would if the bracelet was closer to new condition. It still presents beautifully, and - most importantly - the big Olive Quartz looks sensational.
