Description: Here's an original 700E Boiler Shell and Cab made by Lionel during the late 1930s and early 1940s. It has the '700E1' mold mark above firebox and 'Built By Lionel Corp' mold marks on both sides of boiler near front. This may be an early prototype with only two cab roof sliders instead of the usual three. It may also be the result of hobbiest kitbashing, although that doesn't explain the obvious difference in roof sliders. The gouge at lower left near underside opening can probably be filled and wouldn't be seen when mounted to a frame. Rates Very Good condition.
