Description: Sermon delivered at the funeral of 17 year old Mary Keokee Monroe at the First Baptist Church of Cleveland Ohio by Rev. A.H. Strong with remarks by Rev. F. Tolhurst. Augustus Hopkins Strong was a prominent minister and theologian & became president of the Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School. Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Luther Monroe, widow of Nelson Monroe, gave money for the building of a chapel at Paradise Valley, Pennsylvania in memory of her daughter. Keokee Chapel is today a United Methodist congregation. Sermon book contains a portrait of Miss Monroe, and is beautifully bound in rather soiled white cloth boards with gilt decorations. The binding is "cracked open," but is all holding together well. A few minor spots inside, and a couple of pages have slight edge tears. Thanks for looking.
