Description: For sale is a RARE and beautifully preserved antique early 19th century Handmade hand painted early clock maker trademark/trade sign. The main image features a delightful glue colored clock face with classic clock shaped edge. The backside view shows the skilled carpentry work joining two halves of shaped boards together with multiple cross beams. It is certainly designed and painted by a highly skilled early American sign painter. There are some paint chipping and losses as shown in the photos. These imperfections add a great sense of time elapsing to this truly old image of a time piece. You can see the great patina in the fading blue paint and the lack of it! Early square iron nails on the back frame is a good indication of its antique age dates back to early 19th century. The impressive sign measures 32” by 25”. All paint is original. No touch up. Age appropriate surface wear and imperfections are to be expected. Please check all photos for detailed condition before committing to buy. Overall, a highly rare example of early American hand painted clock maker sign that can be either used as a home decoration or to be upcycled as a trade mark for your antique themed restaurant/inn/Airbnb.
