Description: USA, United States of America, Rattlesnake Island, in Lake Erie, Ohio, had the only USPS-sanctioned local post in the USA, issuing local stamps to carry mail from the island to a US Post Office on shore. It issued an annual set of stamps from 1966 to 1989 and had a brief revival from 2005 to 2010. In 2022 the service - and annual stamp issues - resumed once more. The first (rectangular) issue in 1966 was banned by the US Post Office because of the potential for Rattlesnake Island stamps to be confused with official US stamps. As the US Post Office had issued no triangular stamps at that time, it was agreed that triangular stamps would be acceptable. The stamps were re-issued with the same designs worked into a triangular format, and all subsequent issues were triangular. This is the 'Commercial Vessels of Lake Erie' issue from 2022, in a set of 3 values like nearly all Rattlesnake Island issues. The first issue of the second period of revival of Rattlesnake Island issues, this was the first release of the issue with rouletting instead of ordinary perforations. 50c - Ken Gill Construction75c - Jet Express$1.00 - Miller Boat Line Unmounted mint. Rouletted. Triangular format.
