Here are Italian Walnut grips we found in an old Southern Warehouse, for Smith & Wesson J Round Revolvers, but that we have modified and repurposed for very similar Taurus 85 series Brazilian revolvers. They will Not fit any polymer frame revolver, only the metal frame variants. Manufacturer was Bidiemme s.r.l. of Milan, Italy. These are mid 1980s to early 1990s production, unissued old stock and repackaged. Importer was Sile Inc., Center Market Place, New York. Construction is Italian Walnut, with chrome plated steel screws and escutcheon; and with plated medallions. Finish is machine cut checkering, with dark stain and satin lacquer coating. We have internally modified these grips to to fit Taurus model 85, model 94, model 605, and model 941 series revolvers. Since the Taurus copies have frames that are very close to Smith & Wessons, we only had to fit the top recess area, or internal shoulder, where the grip frame meets the main frame on the Taurus, and had to recess for the Taurus’s Butt Pin, as Smith & Wesson calls it. These grips will still fit Smith & Wesson J frame revolver, with round butt grip frames, but with some looseness for the S&Ws. We have successfully modified some of these grips to fit Taurus 85 revolvers, but those are listed separately on this venue. These grips are period correct for Interarms imported Rossis, and acceptable, attractive, and ergonomic for even current production Braztech imports.
