Description: Sunset Moth Earrings This is a new pair of earrings made using genuine butterfly wings. They have sterling silver hooks .925 This set is handcrafted & preserved in a clear shiny resin. These are not simply laminated, a hole punched in said laminate (first problem) & then finished with fake metal hooks. Laminating wings does not work out for long. First of all you get bubbles in your laminate, meaning air pockets & then your wing separates from laminate in a matter of days. Don’t even think about sleeping or bathing in them. Take a shower & your laminated wing is ruined & laminate is leaking & wings are wet. Punch a hole & once again you’ve opened the laminate. I’ve tried this & being an artist & jeweler already really helped! Skip the cheap laminated earrings. They’re a waste of money. I tried it too. But I did finally figure out how to make them. I really put a lot of work into making these nice. This is a very timely & delicate process (resin coating- several layers) that preserves your wings forever! The layers of resin are light.
