The title of the paperback 'text'book is "The Palmer Method of Business Writing," by A. N. Palmer, Editor (of) The American Penman, which I assume was a magazine. OBTW, consider that women in first-world countries were, in the 1920's, in post-World-War-One, leaving the farms and becoming secretaries in businesses, among other occupations. 1927 was also in the heart of the "Roaring Twenties," just two years before "The Great Depression." This particular copy was used by one "Marion Gaither" and also a "Walton Jones." I haven't taken photos yet so there may be other names and possibly a city... Handwriting is every bit as distinctive and unique as are fingerprints, as one's gait, one's voice, one's iris. I hear that there is a resurgence in interest in the art. As an aside, author Shelby Foote said in a C-Span interview that he preferred to write with a quill pen (which must be dipped in ink every few words). In his words, the process gave him pause, but in a good way. He trained himself to have the (desired) sentence structure and vocabulary in his mind before pen touched paper, OR he would write to a comma, to a pause, think of the next part of the sentence, then dip and begin again. I am a 1961-model human. Handwriting is fun, artistic, enjoyable, and fulfilling. Git' some. If this doesn't sell at auction with at least one view, it will be "buy it now" for a C-note. That's ten "sawbucks." Come for the old books, stay for the history lesson. Oh, it got two views during its 7-day auction.
