Description: Antique Vintage 1920's-1930's Slotted Cake Batter Mixing Spoon Fanchon Flour Enterprise, Kansas Wonderful old advertising slotted cake batter mixing spoon. These were often given by businesses as promotional item for patronage. On the handle it says "Use Fanchon The Flour of Quality" . One end is the slotted spoon and the other end is a bottle opener. Fanchon Flour was produced by Hoffman Mills in Enterprise, Kansas. Hoffman Mills was established in 1867 by Christain Hoffman, an immigrant from Switzerland. He obtained the water power rights at Louden Falls on the Smoky Hill River in 1868. and In 1887 a branch of the railroad was built through Enterprise. By the turn of the century, Enterprise had become a prominent seat of the flour milling industry of Kansas and Hoffman Grist Mill was producing 1200 barrels of flour a day.. It is in nice vintage condition. There is some rust. (Please see photos.) It is 10 1/2 inches long and the bowl of the spoon is 2 1/4 inches wide.
