Description: What I have offered you here today is an Art Deco Copper & Butterscotch Bakelite Stem Streamline Vase from the Chase USA Copper & Brass Company made in the 1930’s. Measuring 6 & 1/4 inches tall by 3 & 3/8 inches across the bottom. There is butterscotch Bakelite around the stem. Pretty fascinating!!The vase is in good condition with patina considering its age of 90+ years. The screw on the bottom has the iconic hallmark of a centaur shooting a bow and arrow with Chase USA under the raised hoofs. Here’s a brief history on Chase Metal Works: “Chase Brass & Copper Company has been in business since 1876. After World War I Chase retooled its business and begin making high-quality, machine made art deco products for the home and changed his name to Chase Brass and Copper Company. Then after World War II in the 1930’s Chase entered the consumer market with a line of modern household goods made of chrome-plated metal, copper and brass. The stylish, streamline wares were created by some of the leading industrial designers of the day, including Russel Wright, Lurelle Guild and Walter Von Nessen”.
