Brass Letter Opener with patent filing information/instructions on its reverse side (possibly from the 1930s) 1 - Bronze/Brass Filigree Letter Opener (my guess is that it may be the oldest one) 1 - Metal Letter Opener marked, "MARJAX Trade Mark" These vintage letter openers are a unique addition to any collection. One has an intricate filigree design and the others were advertising. The filigree opener is metal and I believe it is bronze. A magnet will not stick to it. I can not find any manufacturer's markings on it. The Fuller Brush Co. letter opener is made of plastic and has two different sides, one with a man carrying a case and one with a woman carrying a case. This single letter opener features an engraving of the Fuller Brush Man on one side and the Fuller Brush Lady on the other. The patent attorney letter opener is solid brass, I believe. A magnet will not stick to it either. The MARJAX Trade Mark letter opener is metal. A magnet does stick to it. I believe it may have the MARJAX Trade Mark logo for Marjax Chemical Company.
