Description: Vintage Taxco Horseshoe Ring with Black Onyx or Obsidian TC-104. The ring face measures 7/8” tall x 3/4” wide at widest. weighs in at 19.6 grams. Very comfortable on the finger. I am pretty sure the stone is onyx, but it does have the shine / sheen of obsidian, which is why I am a little on the fence, nonetheless, it is beautiful. It is signed TC-104 MEX 925. In the Mexican Hallmark standard the T stands for Taxco. The C stands for the artist’s last name, which is Cardona. And the 104 stands for the number he was assigned when he was registering the hallmark. The artist’s full name is Enrique Porcayo Cardona.
